Please find details of our awesome sabre subscriptions below. Whether you prefer in-class work with people to spar with, just a bit of cardio, or perhaps personal training, we have an option for everyone!

Let’s get the technical details out of the way first: In order to join our training programme, you will first need to attend and successfully complete our Level 1 Induction Class. Sessions are available twice a month both online on Saturday afternoons, and in person at Hendon on Friday evenings, for a fee of £20 per person (redeemable against your first month’s subscription, if redeemed within two weeks). Please get in touch using our Contact Form to enquire about our next available induction session and to reserve your space!

Whichever subscription you choose, and how you tailor your training, is completely up to you. And of course you are also welcome to alter or cancel your membership with us at any time. We have no minimum contract terms, you are free to leave (and return) whenever you choose.

We also have concessionary rates available for the following qualifying individuals; Under 18’s; Seniors; Students (NUS registered); Public Sector Workers (NHS, Teachers, Fire Service, Police & Armed Forces); Unemployed, or low waged. Please inform us if you think this may apply to you. Proof of status will be required. Contact us for more details.

£65 per month (£45 Conc.)

This subscription includes three, 60 minute, group classes per week; Sabres Levels 1-2, Sabre Cardio sessions, and our meditative Healing class.

The online programme is a little more flexible than the in-class programme, in that students can attend more than one session per week. Details of the current online sessions can be found on the Timetable tab.

It is worth noting that fully understanding the art of the sword requires regular in-person one-on-one combat. Should you choose to study only online, you will be removing a chunk of the syllabus from your training, which is why we have called our online programme ‘Sabres Lite’. In the same way you’d become a pro tennis player, you’ll need to play with a partner in order to learn how to be fully effective and competitive in the sport. Therefore, students who study exclusively in the online programme will be doing so on the understanding that they will not be considered for any future Tournament, or Events Team progression, due to the omission of in-class partner training. The ability to demonstrate an understanding of correct technique and fight safety with a partner is absolutely paramount for the teams in our academy.

£65 per month (£45 conc.)

This subscription covers a single 90 minute in-class group training session per week, at the Leon Paul Fencing Centre in Hendon on Friday evenings. It also includes access to the 60 minute Sabre Cardio online group class on Saturdays.

The Leon Paul Fencing Centre is a large Olympic fencing salle in Hendon, North West London. Classes here are made up of larger groups, which are split into training levels with dedicated instructors.

This is where the magic really happens, as partner exercises and tournament training takes place here. Sparring is not available in the online programme!

This subscription covers a single 90 minute in-class group training session per week, at the Wu Shi Taiji Studio in Finsbury Park. Available Tuesday or Wednesday evening. It also includes access to the 60 minute Sabre Cardio online group class on Saturdays.

The Wu Shi Taiji Studio is a small, intimate space on Blackstock Road in Finsbury Park, North London. Classes here are made up of a small group, no larger than 5 students, which offers a more tailored training class with individual attention given to each student. Level 2-4 Instructor

£40 | £30 for subscribers

Level 5 Instructor

£70 | £50 for subscribers

Online and In-class personal training sessions with a fully qualified SSCA Instructor, tailored to each individual students needs.

We get it, not everyone can follow along in a group class, and we find that a private session is far more rewarding for some individuals. Because of this, personal training sessions will be available for students who would like to go over any technical aspect they may like some extra help with, or for those who are struggling to pick up details in a group class setting.

The above one-to-one prices are additional to any current subscriptions that a student is paying for, either in-class and/or online programmes. A subscription is not required but does provide a student discount on personal training. For those considering a personal training option only, please note that a minimum of 120 minutes per month is recommended in order to maintain progression within the programme.

Our Friday classes are held at the Leon Paul Fencing Centre, and the space is shared with elite Fencing athletes from around the globe. We offer a slightly different style of teaching at Hendon, as the space and class is larger, allowing us to section off the students into pockets of dedicated training. Facilities include toilets and seating area. (Please note that the showers and changing areas are not to be used until further notice).

The nearest station is Hendon overground line, which is 10 minutes walk away, and Hendon Central underground station, which is about 20 minutes. There are a few parking spaces outside the centre and plenty of spaces along the kerb, with easy routes in via the A406, A1 and M1.
