THE FESTIVAL

Workshops & Friendly Sparring for SSCA Students & Guest Clubs

This will be a fun day of workshops, sabre games, sharing of forms, and friendly sparring for the Silver Sabres Students and our invited guests from other LED Sabre Clubs. SSCA workshops will include; Referee Training, and Technical Sword Sessions, and we invite other clubs to offer any workshops they’d like to hold as well. We’ll also operate a friendly sparring zone for our students and guests to play and learn from each other. Information on how to register a space will be emailed to SSCA Students and invited Guest Clubs.

Special Trial Session for Members of the Public! Come & Check it out…

We will be running a special 45 minute Trial Session, being held at our annual SaberFest Weekend at Hendon – Saturday 14th September at 2pm. This session is suitable for ages 15+, and at the special price of £10 per participant.

No sword or LED sabre is required, as we lend these out. The booking will include the opportunity to briefly watch display fighting by the Silver Sabres Events Team, and view friendly sparring with our guests, as part of our Tournament Weekend.

THE TOURNAMENT

You guessed it, this will be the day of reckoning, with a fun new layout and some creative tweaks to replace the typical pool format! Come along and watch Epic LED Saber Fighters duke it out at our SaberFest 2024 LED Sabre Tournament.

Registration time: 9.15am

Fighter Entry Fee: £40

There will be space for 30 Fighters this year, so for the time being we will limit clubs to 4 Fighters each, plus a reserve list should spaces become available. Priority for extra spaces will go to Saber Accords members. All LED Sabre Clubs that are known to us have already been emailed for participation confirmation. If you would like to include your LED Sabre Club in our tourney please get in touch with us at info@silver-sabres.com.

Independent Fighters will also be welcome, but will need to submit a video to us prior to booking a slot. They will also be assessed for safety by one of our main referees on the Saturday or Sunday morning, before main registration. Participant safety is of the utmost importance to us, so only Fighters who are deemed safe and experienced will be cleared to compete. If interested, please email us at info@silver-sabres.com.

SaberFest is an opportunity for clubs to get together for friendly matches, tournaments, workshops, referee training, performances and more! Whilst the core practice revolves around the use of the LED Sabre, SabreFest also ventures into archery, historical weapons, and even unarmed martial arts!  

Hosted by the Silver Sabres in the UK, and by Fechtkultur Braunschweig in Germany, we look forwards to inviting more friends each year!
